Natalie Cole: I Love Beyonce Too!

“I think that it’s going to be interesting to see where Beyoncé’s career goes,” Cole said. “Because now I would say, she is the new Madonna. Girls want to look like her; they want to dress like her… I think that she could be a great influence. She’s a nice girl, definitely not a “diva” in the sense of what we like to use as that definition.”

You just been Let Go: Walmart Dropped Paula Deens Ass

We really are living in New Days because I can remember reading in text books as a child that the N-word was the White people thing to say back in the day. But today, try that shit and see what happen! lol Damn. When even Walmart doesn’t want to be seen holding hands with you out in public….
Walmart’s spokesperson Dave Tovar said in a statement today that they are done with her and they have no plans to carry her line of cooking pots and pies anymore. Fantasia Barrino Says She’s in a Very Good Place Right Now on the “Today” Show

Fantasia Barrino Says She’s in a Very Good Place Right Now on the “Today” Show, I feel her. You get tired of walking around feeling unhappy because to the company YOU KEEP. I had that same negative energy until I woke up one day and said "No more." I had to stop caring what people thought and DO ME. As one of the early winners of the “American Idol” franchise, many thought Fantasia‘s life would be nothing but a dream by now. But the past few years have been hell. No worries though, cause she’s in a better place today.

An interview with NPR, singer/songwriter/producer The-Dream

What is it about the ’90s? You’ve said what they mean for you personally, but why do all of us keep going back? Why did it even stop?
I’ll tell you why. MP3 interrupted what R&B was starting to be. It’s like taking an engine out of something and saying, “Now drive your car really fast.” It’s not going to happen. It’s the same thing that I deal with now. It takes a lot to put a 5-piece band on, even though we need it. We need those harmonies; I need those four background singers — not because I can’t sing but because I need to relay the message of what the song is emotionally, or the feeling, period. [From] a money standpoint, it didn’t really affect hip-hop — they could still keep going. You don’t need a band to do hip-hop; you only need a DJ.
